Play4Life
To help the government deliver its Change4Life message
“Eat Well, Move More and Live Longer”
PPA MEMBER COMPANY, Funworld Leisure will be helping to improve the health of the nation this
September by encouraging children in Inverclyde and surrounding districts to “Eat Well, Move More
and Live Longer” in support of the governments Change4Life campaign.
These days, 'modern life' can mean that we are a lot less active. With so many opportunities to
watch TV or play computer games, and with so much convenience and fast food available, we don't
move about as much, or eat as well as we used to. Change4Life is a nationwide movement which aims
to help us all, but especially our kids, eat well, move more and live longer. If we carry on
living as we are, 9 out of 10 kids are set to grow up with dangerous levels of fat in their
bodies. This can cause life-threatening diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Which is
why it’s really important that we all get together to do something about it today!
Did you know that a typical visit to
Funworld provides double your child’s recommended daily
activity levels? The true benefit of indoor play however, is that it is “Exercise in Disguise” so
your children don’t even realise that they are exercising…it’s great fun play at their own pace
and in a safe and secure environment.
Funworld is a member of the Play Providers Association (PPA), the trade association representing
indoor play operators which means that you can be sur ethat our centre meets high industry
standards. The PPA has been working to improve awareness of the benefits that visiting a
playcenter can make to increasing physical activity levels in children. As a result, the PPA was
delighted to join as a national partner of the Change4Life initiative and members across the UK
will be running special play4life activities this September.
Play4Life is an exciting promotion where everyone can access entry offers to playcenters and win
great play4life giveaways. At
Funworld its
2 for 1 entry this September so you can keep coming
back again and again to use your active minutes. For more details about play4life at
Funworld and

“Sharon Murdoch, Director of Funworld Leisure and member of the PPA, has always recognised that
active play is an essential ingredient in raising healthy children. “Through Play4Life this
September we can spread the positive message that being physically active and eating well is
within everyone’s grasp. Most people don’t realise that by bringing their children to play here,
that they are achieving their daily recommended amounts of exercise and you can also sample
options from our healthy menu”. “Research has shown that whilst playing in our centre, children
taken over half of their recommended daily steps and work at an average of 70% of their maximum
heart rates so make sure you and your family play4life this September”
